Sailendranath And Gitarani Educational Institute(SGEI) SGEI is a non-profit social development organization, officially registered under the West Bengal Society Act. Established in 2018 and headquartered in West Bengal, the organization plays a crucial role in uplifting underprivileged communities. It holds recognition from the Government of West Bengal, and is enrolled with NITI Aayog under NGO Darpan, Also empaneled with Ministry of Textile( Dept. of Handicraft) , empaneled with Dept. of Technical Education & Skill Development ( Govt. of West Bengal), ensuring transparency and accountability in its operations. SGEI is authorized for tax rebates under section 80-G of the Indian Income Tax Act and CSR Form-I, as recognized by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
Over the past decade, SGEI has successfully executed numerous empowerment programs and projects targeting Youth,Women, Girls, and Children from marginalized backgrounds. The organization’s initiatives encompass diverse areas such as education, health, hygiene, nutrition, vocational skills, and livelihood creation. SGEI’s dedication towards social development has enabled it to positively impact the lives of thousands of individuals. Through education, skill-building, and support, SGEI strives to uplift the underprivileged, equipping them with the tools necessary for a brighter future. Embracing a holistic approach, SGEI addresses the multifaceted needs of its beneficiaries, with a focus on empowering women and children. By collaborating with government bodies, corporate partners, and the wider society, SGEI maximizes its efforts and creates sustainable change. With a deep-seated commitment to social justice, SGEI continues its mission to uplift the underprivileged and build a more inclusive society.
HOW WE CHANGE
EDUCATION
- Skill need assessment–We conduct an industry skills need assessment to identify the areas of skilling most in demand in the region.
- Mobilization of youth– To better inform youth and their parents about the various courses and career opportunities,we plan to meetings in villages across the region.
- Trade/Soft Skills Training & Curriculum Development-We keep our curriculum up-to-date to ensure it meets current industry standards, giving our trainees the best chance of success in their chosen field.
PLACEMENT
- To organize on and off-campus recruitment for the students with Industries/Organizations and various NGOs doing significant work across Pan India
- To prepare students for campus placement by arranging training workshops in aptitude tests, group discussions, etc.
- To create a virtual database of all the upcoming job/internship opportunities in order to make the students aware and ready for it.
- Soft skill development like interview skills, communication, writing, and leadership qualities
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
- Entrepreneurship encourages the youth of the country to seek innovations and challenges. Thus, leading to optimal utilisation of resources and wealth creation.
- Increased rate of entrepreneurship is an indicator of the overall national economic growth.
- SGEI is offering a co-working space and other essentials in terms of infrastructure facility to start-ups and business ideas of their current students in the form of SGEI Launchpad.
